With the launch of Destiny: Rise of Iron releasing on the 20th SeptemberBungie and Activision have announced the release of Destiny - The Collection which will feature the new adventure as well as all the previous instalments and the standalone game itself. Destiny - The Collection is suited to all new players or those just moving to a current generation console. It also may be a cheaper alternative for those who bought one expansion and never invested in the rest (the boat I'm in).

Players who do pre-order Destiny - The Collection will be given the standalone game as well as the first three expansions, The Dark Below, House of Wolves and The Taken King. This gives new and returning players time to grind through the previous instalments in preparation for the release of Rise of Iron in September.

Destiny has not had an easy time of it since the games release in September 2014, the game has been slated for holding back content intentionally to charge players for content later. The game has also been praised and loved by a loyal fan base for the past 18 months, where people regularly play to keep their light levels at top form and take part in the Crucible PVP challenge.

I was more than a little shocked to here that the April 2.2.0 update to the game will be free to all who own The Taken King edition of the game. The update will contain new challenges, new rewards and live updates to the existing game, check out a steam from Bungie over on the official Bungie Twitch Channel.
